The KAUFFMANN-BREMIN DT-2 is the phoenix born from the ashes of the past success of the well-known ACT DTNVG. Designed by the same engineer under a new company, the DT-2 silhouette is distinctively similar to the DTNVG, but with several updated features.
The KB DT-2 includes the essential features you’d expect from a solid binocular: a positive and oversized on/off switch, tethered battery cap, and aluminum dovetail. More specifically, the DT-2 is constructed from a proprietary polymer material that shields the device’s electronic components and protects against potentially damaging or structure-degrading chemical agents. It also incorporates quality-of-life improvements such as adjustable interpupillary distance (IPD) stops—allowing even the narrowest of settings—auto pod shutoff when articulating the arms to the side or up, and an electronic low-battery indicator visible during use. This entire package exceeds both MIL-STD-810G and NATO 1.5 m drop test standards.
The starter variant of the DT-2 binocular is a curated mix of components designed to ensure the maximum features and potential of the device are utilized, while maintaining a budget-friendly approach for first-time users.

Optics
Our commercial specification optics, used in all our starter kits, are Singaporean-made and compatible with all standard PVS-14 threaded accessories. These lenses do not meet the same MIL-PRF-A3256342A standard as Noctis/Fuji lenses but deliver similar performance across the board. They may produce a slightly less contrast-heavy image but offer an excellent performance-to-price ratio, providing a clear and sharp image that lets the image intensifier’s resolution speak for itself.
The lenses shown in the pictures are Noctis, but ComSpec lenses have a nearly identical form, with different coatings and finish. To see the exact lens and specifications, see Comspec Lense Set
Image Intensifier
The image intensifier tubes used in all our starter kits are Gen 2+ autogated, available in white or green, with either 1400–1599 FOM or 1600–1699 FOM. The autogating feature is included in all our starter kit image intensifier tubes, providing added value from the start and ensuring a long-lasting, protected device.
These are our standard-level figures of merit, offering good image amplification nearing 10,000 cd/m²/lx (sometimes more, depending on the specific tube), which is usually found in more expensive tubes. This makes for a great starting point and even a solid midrange tube, which is also compatible with multiple other housings if upgrading from a starter kit is of interest.
